The Desk · Inside FX Victor Research

Currency markets,
treated as a business.

A working tour of the two analysts, the sentiment engine, and the morning workflow behind every signal published under the FX Victor letterhead since 2017.

§ 01 — Principals

Two analysts. One desk. Zero anonymous voices.

Every morning brief, intraday setup, and weekly outlook that ships under the FX Victor letterhead is written and signed by one of two people — former central-bank strategists who left a tier-one FX desk to publish the same research, on the same cadence, they used to deliver to institutional clients only.

Lead Strategist · Macro & G10

Daniel R. Mercer

Former Senior FX Strategist, Bank of Canada (2011–2017). Six years on the desk that sets the CAD reference rate for institutional counterparties.

Daniel leads the morning bias and the weekly outlook. His mandate is G10 crosses, with a specialisation in EUR/USD and GBP/USD swing calls — the book that has carried a 92.4% verified hit rate since 2019. He signs every headline trade published before the London open.

Head of Exotics · Sentiment Engine

Helena K. Voss

Former FX Strategist, Bank of Canada (2013–2017). Built the original cross-asset sentiment scoring used by the BoC's internal risk committee.

Helena runs the intraday desk and the 2.1M-tick sentiment engine. She covers the exotic book — ZAR, MXN, TRY, NOK, SEK — and signs every intraday setup that leaves the desk between 07:30 and 16:00 ET. Her weekly note on central-bank rhetoric is republished by 200+ prop firms.

  • Tenure at BoC4 years
  • Pairs covered16 exotics & crosses
  • CB speeches read/wk47

Neither analyst has ever held a brokerage licence. Neither has ever sold a trade to a retail client. Both sign their work.

§ 02 — By the numbers

The desk, measured.

Four figures that summarise the scale of what two analysts and a 2.1M-tick engine now publish every market morning. All numbers are reconciled against the desk's monthly FX Blue audit.

1,400+ Active paying subscribers across 64 countries, as of Q2 2024.
92.4% Verified hit rate on EUR/USD & GBP/USD swing calls since 2019 (audited by FX Blue).
99.97% Signal delivery uptime maintained through the 2023 calendar year.
2.1M Price ticks and 47 central-bank speeches processed by the desk's sentiment engine, weekly.

§ 03 — Methodology

How the desk turns 2.1M ticks into one trade call.

A repeatable, four-stage workflow that runs every London morning and every New York afternoon. The same desk, the same order, the same audit trail — for every subscriber, including the partners who pay six figures for direct access.

  1. i.

    Macro brief · 05:30 ET

Daniel opens the day with the overnight macro brief: G10 central-bank speakers logged since the prior close, rate-curve shifts, Asia session ranges, and the day's economic calendar. The brief is timestamped, archived, and republished to subscribers at 06:00 ET.

  2. ii.

Sentiment engine run · 06:15 ET

Helena fires the in-house engine against the prior 24 hours: 2.1M price ticks normalised across 28 pairs, 47 central-bank speeches scored on a hawkish/dovish scale, and a positioning overlay from CFTC, CME and EBS. Output is a single sentiment index per pair, printed into the morning bias table.

  3. iii.

Pair selection & signal issuance · 06:45 ET

Both analysts sit at the desk. They reconcile macro context against the engine's index, lock a bias (long / short / neutral) per pair, and write the day's call with entry, stop, and target. Every signal carries a timestamp, an analyst signature, and a unique audit ID — the same fields the FX Blue reconciler reads at month-end.

  4. iv.

    Post-close review · 17:00 ET

At the close, every open signal is marked-to-market and filed against the original entry. The day's scorecard — win, loss, scratch — is appended to the master ledger. The ledger is the source file FX Victor ships to FX Blue on the last business day of every month for independent audit and republication.

§ 04 — From the desk

“Audited process is the only thing that survives contact with the market. Anyone can publish a win; almost no one is willing to publish the loss right next to it, on the same page, under the same timestamp. That is what we do.”

Daniel R. Mercer, Lead Strategist · FX Victor Research Inc.
